Dot NAME Domains

Launched in 2001, the Dot NAME top-level extension is the sole TLD planned for personal websites only. These domains can be personal or fictional names, nicknames and/or other labels people are known by. At first, solely 3rd-level registrations were possible, so if you planned to acquire john.doe.name, you were required to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was liberalized and 2nd-level registrations were also permitted. Existing 3rd-level domains remained running.

Through our firm, you can secure your .NAME domain for a period between one and ten years. You will have the chance to correct the WHOIS information, to park your domain, to edit Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an already purchased domain to our company if you have its EPP transfer code from the current registrar company and we will renew it as soon as the transfer has been finished. There are no special restrictions on who can get a .NAME domain name, but in order to maintain the concept behind its establishment alive, the dot NAME Registry may check who the owner is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain, the registration may be challenged.
